Stronger Community, Stronger Homes.

Dear Neighbors:

I believe many of us share a deep concern for the well-being of our homes and want to protect our investment.  Roof damages in our homes is a symptom of a larger problem: aging buildings and structures.  Simply patching up problems as they arise cannot fully address the larger issues.

We need an open and honest dialogue about the future of our community, and these important questions:

Living here has taught me the importance of building trust and communication between the Board and Homeowners.  So it is with a deep appreciation for our community and its challenges, I nominate myself for a Board of Directors seat.

My mission is straightforward: work to safeguard our homes and the entire complex.

Please join me in moving forward and building a stronger community together.

Respectfully,

Tatyana.

My Unit Damages Sustained from Leaks in the Roof

June 28, 2020

Loft roof leak damaged boiler’s electric controls and display. HOA only patched the roof, leaving me without hot water and dealing with a costly, pandemic-delayed repair.

December 19, 2023

Windstorm ripped off shingles, exposing a hidden second roof underneath and causing a lot of water damage to the living room and loft boiler closet.

HOA roofers did major patchwork 5 days later, but offered NO guarantees due to the double layer roof.  The second roof was installed in 1997 over the original 1980’s roof.

Pictured December 25, 2023: This  photo shows ongoing repairs I’ve been doing in the living room since December 19th. Damaged wall, balcony framing, and the ceiling areas have been removed and are drying.

January 9, 2024

Massive rainwater leak in the Loft soaked the boiler closet walls and ceiling. On January 10th as per Management email “A new roof for your building has been ordered for this spring once the weather breaks.” and on January 12th they called the roofer.

Roof patchwork with makeshift drainage was installed. During the process, mold was discovered under the wet insulation and drywall. When I informed the Board and the Management, only response was an email with  Master Deed and By-Laws Amendments dated 6/9/2021 regarding insurance claims.  I never saw these Amendments nor received any notices of meetings, ballots, or votes for changes to our Governing Documents.

Nobody from the HOA or Management is telling me what they're doing to protect my condo before the roof is replaced. They also won't help me pay for any repairs to my unit.
